Hammerfest Alpinklubb was originally a group in Hammerfest Ski Club, but later separated and founded as its own club in 1989. The Alpine Club used to operate in connection with the Reindalen Alpine Centre, which went bankrupt. This led the alpine club to take over the operation of the ground.
Currently, the ground is run exclusively on a voluntary basis and is open for four days a week throughout the season, weather permitting. The club also organizes events and the ground is available for private rentals. Additionally, an active alpine group has been established with over 50 enthusiastic children and adults who train twice a week. The group participates in races in Finnmark and organizes annual events in Hammerfest.
Hammerfest Alpinklubb contributes to the vitality and well-being of local communities by promoting outdoor activities, fostering a sense of stewardship of natural areas, facilitating social connections and supporting economic development. The club collaborates with many local companies to encourage more children and adults to take part in skiing and snowboarding activities.
Happy skiing to all!
The elevator doesn't go around and the waffles don't cook by themselves. Hammerfest Alpinklubb is volunteer-based.
